Puget Sound Nurse Practitioner Association is a non-profit professional organization supporting nurse practitioners in Puget Sound.
PSNPA was started in January 1998 by Diane Doles with help from Phyllis Christiansen and Deborah Keames, all ARNP's. Ms. Doles thought that nurses should be getting the same funding for CME as physicians and set about getting support from a local pharmaceutical rep to start the organization. The meeting was well received and had over 50 members in attendace.
The initial goals were to provide networking with peers, learning from each others practices and clinical experience as well as finding ways to raise funds to funnel into ARNPs United of Washington.
Today the organization is still committed to those same goals and has been achieving them and more. We have continued to contribute to ARNPs United yearly since our inception.
We also hope to expand public knowledge of PSNPA and ARNP's by being more involved in our communities where we live and practice.
