Puget Sound Nurse Practitioner Association is a non-profit professional organization supporting nurse practitioners in the Puget Sound area of Washington.
PSNPA was started in January 1998 by Diane Doles with help from Phyllis Christiansen and Deborah Keames, all ARNP’s. Ms. Doles thought that nurses should be getting the same funding for CME as physicians and set about getting support from a local pharmaceutical rep to start this organization. The first meeting had over 50 members in attendance.
The initial goals were to provide networking with peers, learn from each other's practices and clinical experience as well as raising funds to funnel into ARNPs United of Washington.
Today the organization is committed to the same founding goals and has had some additional contributions. We have an annual scholarship and have continued to contribute to ARNPs United yearly since our inception.
We also hope to expand public knowledge of PSNPA and ARNP’s by being more involved in our communities where we live and practice.
- Promote the Nurse Practitioner Role
- Facilitate Practice Development and Continuing Education
